European Sales Manager Wanted! 

European Sales Manager role brief: 

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to join our team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where there is opportunity to grow, launch new events, then this would be a great position for you. We are based in Langton Green on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells and have parking onsite. We have a relaxed and friendly working environment. 


Job Title: European Sales Manager 

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent 

Hours: Full Time  

Salary: Depends on experience 

Expected start date: May 2024 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Consistently achieve high levels of telephone calls, face-to-face meetings and Teams meetings 

  • Effectively and accurately drive personal revenue pipelines to maximize all new business opportunities (having good closing skills) 

  • Report sales activity within the CRM system 

  • Generate new business revenues  

  • Develop new accounts, identify and convert opportunities to sell across all Step Connect2 events and up-sell additional opportunities 

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and the rest of the internal events teams 

  • Keep up to date of industry developments to identify and research growth areas for enhancing sales within existing and new events 

  • At all times represent Step Connect² in a professional manner 

Sales development and training is provided to enhance personal skills whilst ensuring focus and relevance to the management, delivery and success of events. 


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes: 

  • The successful candidate will need to have at least 3 years of previous experience ideally in media, exhibition, service industry or sponsorship sales 

  • Native or business standard European language/s are ideal 

  • A knowledge and familiarisation with CRM systems to facilitate inputting and maintaining contact records 

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines 

  • Being a genuine team player 

  • Proactive and collaborative in nature 

  • Strong sense of personal accountability 

  • Time management and ability to work on initiative 

  • Meticulous attention to detail 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 

  • Excellent communicator 

  • Resilient, ambitious, tenacious with a drive for success 

  • Motivated by targets and developing sales approach 

  • Strong negotiation skills 

Initially you will be working on the European Universities Estates Congress to take place in Amsterdam in February 2025 with the role developing over time as we launch new European events in which the successful candidate will be key to ensuring success in terms of revenue and event delivery.
